Community Service Order
Clients are referred by the Ministry of Community and Social Services Probation Services and consist of youth age 12 – 15 years who have been found guilty and ordered by the youth justice court to perform a community service or to compensate any person in kind or by way of personal services for any loss, damage or injury. The program features are as follows:
• Community-based, individualized work placements/compensation that provide an opportunity for youth to recognize their skills and abilities and which encourages constructive use of leisure time.
• Program encourages and facilitates community responsibility in the youth justice system.
Work completed by the youth is without remuneration and hours/type of work/personal service are in accordance with the court order.
Intensive Services
The purpose of this program is to provide youth referred by Probation Services and their families with mental health issues with intensive flexible mental health intervention/treatment in their homes, schools and communities. Services will be provided within a collaborative, cross-sectored approach.
The core service design is based on principles of solution focused and cognitive behaviour therapy.
