Friends and Neighbours Club
The Friends and Neighbours Club, F.A.N. Club, was developed in 1995 by the Phoenix Centre for Children and Families, a children's mental health centre serving Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. The F.A.N. Club is a unique, Canadian prevention program that was developed in response to the increasing need for dialogue with children and the serious social problems facing them today.

Children First
The Children First program, created by the Children First Foundation in Illinois, provides separating and divorcing parents the opportunity to learn about and discuss the effect that divorce and the changing family situation has on children. With the assistance of a videotape presentation and discussion, parents are introduced to methods of minimizing the negative consequence of divorce on their children. Particular focus is on making participants aware of the potential sources of parental conflict that often become a part of the divorce process.

Parents 2 Parents
www.Parents2Parents.ca is a web community built especially for expectant parents, new parents and parents with young children. It is a place to find critical information about pregnancy and prenatal care, child development and how to parent effectively through those first five miracle years. But more importantly, it is a place for parents to connect with other parents experiencing the same types of things. We know that becoming a parent can feel overwhelming at times – it’s comforting to know parents have a place to go to talk to the experts as well as each other.

Research Initiatives
Findings from the following research reports were pivotal in better understanding the feelings and needs of expectant and new parents. Many findings contributed to the development of prenatal and parenting resources such as The Parenting Partnership and www.Parents2Parents.ca. The research conducted over the last several years has contributed in particular, to the development of Comfort, Play & Teach®, a parenting framework, which is the foundation of these powerful parent resources.
